New biofuel ship-to-ship transfer capabilities.

In response to growing demand, James Fisher Fendercare has invested in specialised equipment for the transfer of biofuels and biodiesel, to support the growth of alternative fuels.

James Fisher Fendercare (JF Fendercare) is poised to support the growth of the biofuels market, as sustainable fuel sources are increasingly important in the energy mix to help meet global net zero targets. To aid this growth we have invested in new equipment to support import and export demands, for the efficient transfer of biofuels and biodiesel.

Our newly equipped biofuel transfer services are now operational for immediate spot operations from our well-equipped base in Nipah, Indonesia. Furthermore, we are actively exploring opportunities to extend these services into other regions to support our global customers. Our investment in this new capability underscores our commitment to bolstering the biofuel industry's expansion, aiming to help overcome logistical hurdles associated with its transportation.

Supporting the growing biofuels industry

Biofuels have emerged as a promising alternative to traditional fossil fuels, offering renewable energy with lower carbon emissions, whilst enabling waste by-product to be reused.

Biofuels are produced from renewable organic matter, for example waste oils and plant waste. They can be blended with fossil fuels, and even replace them if the machinery or infrastructure is compatible.

Despite currently being a small fraction of global fuel consumption, biofuels are poised for significant growth driven by advancing technologies, investments in biofuel production and infrastructure, and supportive governmental policies.
